CNBC's chief economics correspondent Steve Lessman sat down with four polling experts to take an in-depth look at the data to see which of them could shift the election to either Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump. Conclusion? Yes, it's probably the economy. But there are also other factors, such as personality and turnout, which candidate represents change, who generates enthusiasm, and whom voters can be persuaded to ultimately support, that will help determine the outcome.
