Goldman Sachs says ECB poised to prepare Europe for growth in 2025 with cuts and action signals
The European Central Bank is set to cut interest rates by 25 basis points on Thursday and signal more cuts to come, setting Europe up for stronger economic growth in 2025, according to Goldman Sachs.
“We think the ECB will move gradually… but I think there will be some recognition today that interest rates are heading lower,” chief European economist Gary Stein told CNBC ahead of the decision.
“Low interest rates will go some way to helping with savings and boosting consumer spending, and this is one of the reasons why we believe Europe will grow next year,” he added.
