CNBC's Jim Cramer told investors on Friday what to pay attention to next week on Wall Street, highlighting the non-farm payrolls report and earnings from… GetLab And Crowd Strike.
“For those of you who want the Fed to cut rates so badly that you'll be sitting on the sidelines until they do, you better hope we get some weakness in employment numbers next Friday,” he said.
GitLab will report on Monday. Cramer said he's waiting to see how the company will do because some in the enterprise software sector see sales issues. He noted that GitLab's last quarter was disappointing. He said it seemed like a one-time situation to him at the time, but the report may have been a harbinger of trouble to come in the industry.
Tuesday brings quarterly results from CrowdStrike, and Cramer said the cybersecurity company was performing better than many of its peers.
Hewlett-Packard Company, Ferguson And PVH Tuesday report as well. Cramer will wait to see how HPE stacks up against competitors like Dell. According to Cramer, Ferguson is a great way to invest in infrastructure. He will also watch PVH, known from brands like Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, but said he prefers Ralph Lauren in clothing.
Dollar tree, Campbell's soupmaker of Jack Daniels Brown-Forman And Lululemon He will report on Wednesday. Cramer said he wonders whether Brown-Forman will be able to explain what's hurting alcohol sales, as well as whether the tough and crowded market for athleisure is actually “hidden” in Lululemon's stock.
Thursday, J.M. Smoker And DocuSign The report is scheduled. Cramer said J.M. Smucker needed to find something that would make the company grow faster, and he wondered how DocuSign would figure out how to turn its business around.
Friday is perhaps the most important event of the week, according to Cramer, the Labor Department's nonfarm payrolls report for May. He stressed that the Fed would not be inclined to cut interest rates until the unemployment rate reached 4%. In April, the unemployment rate rose to 3.9% from 3.8% the previous month.
