Former Twitter executives, including CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, Chief Legal Officer Vijaya Gade, and General Counsel Sean Edgett, have filed a new lawsuit against Elon Musk and XCorp in federal court, arguing they are owed $128 million. As unpaid compensation.
Lawyers for the former Twitter executives say in their complaint that after Musk backed himself in a deal to buy Twitter, now X Corp, for $44 billion, he retaliated against those executives personally and tried to recoup some of his expenses by “repeatedly refusing And again, respect other clear contractual obligations.”

“Musk doesn’t pay his bills, believes the rules don’t apply to him, and uses his wealth and power to attack anyone who disagrees with him,” the complaint says.
The complaint also refers to comments Musk made to his official biographer, Walter Isaacson, in which he said, “He will haunt every one of Twitter's CEOs and directors until the day they die.”
Lawyers for the former Twitter executives argue that “these statements were not just the rants of a selfish billionaire surrounded by people helping him who are unwilling to confront him with the legal consequences of his choices. Musk bragged to Isaacson specifically how he planned to defraud Twitter.” Saving $200 million for himself.
The suit was filed, Agrawal et al v. Musk et al., in the Northern District of California, comes on the heels of news of the collapse of settlement talks between X Corp. and former Twitter executives in a related case in Delaware, Woodfield v. Twitter Inc., where $500 million in unpaid severance pay to former Twitter managers and engineers is disputed.
X Corp representatives did not respond. Elon Musk immediately responded to CNBC's request for comment.
