Federal food regulators have raised the alarm over recalled eggs sold from… Costco stores On potential exposure to Salmonella, reclassify the target product to the highest risk level.
The FDA previously announced on November 27 that about 10,800 retail units of Organic Pasture-Raised 24 Eggs, sold under Costco's Kirkland Signature brand, had been recalled. Before New York-Handsome Brook Farms.
But then, in an updated notice issued Friday, the FDA reclassified it to Class 1 recall, which the agency describes as “a reasonable possibility that use of or exposure to a violative product will result in serious adverse health consequences or death.”
The Target egg carton was sold in 25 Costco stores in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee starting November 22.
Pasture Organic eggs, sold in sets of 24, have a Universal Product Code (UPC) number of 9661910680 and a use-by date of January 5, 2025.
The FDA said customers who have these eggs should return them to Costco for a full refund.
